Learning outcomes
The FIU curriculum is based on the learning outcomes framework defined in the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education of Turkey, Level 6 (http://tyyc.yok.gov.tr/?pid=33), which is equivalent to Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and the first cycle of the Qualifications Framework for the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA 1.Cycle).
In particular, the FIU curriculum aims to ensure that by the end of a four-year undergraduate program, successful students will have:
LO1 Demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively in the teaching medium in both speaking and writing.
LO2 Demonstrates the development of critical analytical thinking and problem-solving skills as a basis for creative and innovative practice.
LO3 Acquire the basic concepts of their chosen field as well as theoretical and practical knowledge compatible with contemporary requirements in relevant professional fields.
LO4 Develop skills to effectively plan and implement tasks and projects in academic and professional contexts through individual and collaborative approaches to study and work.
LO5 Apply the skills, knowledge, responsibilities, and commitment to quality required for high-level professional practice in their field within both simulated and real-life contexts.
LO6 Demonstrated acceptance of the philosophy of lifelong learning and the ability to engage in both independent and team-based academic and professional development.
LO7 I have acquired sufficient academic competence in my subject area to enable progression into further academic study, including the ability to conduct independent research and collect and interpret qualitative and quantitative data sets.
LO8 Demonstrate responsibility and commitment to academic and professional ethics, civic and social responsibilities, including issues of environmental protection, health, safety, security, and justice.
LO9 Demonstrate awareness of the impact of their chosen field in the globalized world and develop the social and linguistic skills to support intercultural communication in academic and professional contexts in both the home and foreign language.
LO10 Demonstrate practical competence in those mathematical, scientific and numerical applications required in the context of their subject area, and more generally in modern life, as indicated by international qualifications (e.g., European Computer Leadership Advanced Level).
